I’ll be honest; I’ve never tried a Manwich. It hasn’t looked too appealing to me over the years, but that’s just me. I grew up with homemade sloppy joes, which my mother called Spoonburgers. This is, presumably, because you practically have to eat them with a spoon, as they’re definitely sloppy! I love making them all the time, because they’re quick, easy, and last for a few meals.
Spoonburgers
One pound of ground beef, seasoned and drained.
Two Tbsp. ketchup
Two Tbsp. mustard
1/4 Tbsp. onion powder
1/4 Tbsp. garlic salt
One can of chicken gumbo
Hamburger buns/bread
Once the ground beef has been cooked and drained, add all of the above ingredients to a pan, then add the ground beef. Stir and let the spoonburgers cook on low for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. You can definitely add in more onion powder, garlic salt, ketchup or mustard for more flavor. The gumbo is the key, though. It may be hard to find in some areas, so definitely stock up when you see it in the store!
Enjoy!!
