Every time we go back to Norfolk to visit, we almost always go to one of our favorite restaurants – No Frill Grill.
And one of the things we almost always order is their Funky Chicken Sandwiches. It is a grilled chicken breast, bacon, Swiss cheese, Parmesan peppercorn dressing, sliced tomato on grilled rye, served with crinkle cut fries and a kosher pickle from OUTERSPACE. Over the years, we know EXACTLY how to order it the way we like it. Sub sour dough, hold the tomato, extra dressing on the side.
So, we’ve always made our own version but finding a Parmesan peppercorn dressing that is spot-on has ALWAYS been a challenge – until NOW!
We did a massive search online and have merged several recipes that we’ve found to make a damn-near close recipe to make the… Best. Sandwich. On. Earth.
1 cup sour cream
1 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1/4 cup heavy cream
Juice from 1/2 lemon
2 Tbsp coarse ground black pepper
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
1 1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp hot sauce
Mix all ingredients, minus heavy cream
Add heavy cream as needed to get consistency desired
