European vacation 2018!

We did it…we finally went on our European vacation!!!

We hadn’t had a vacation in a while and wanted to adventure across the pond to visit some places together. Trey had been to Paris when he was in high school and I had hit Spain, Italy, and Greece, but we hadn’t been anywhere overseas together. After much discussion, we decided on a trip to London, Paris, and Rome, all over the course of a week.

Of course Trey wanted to revisit France and I wanted to revisit Italy, but we found a package deal that included London as well, so we jumped on the offer from Great Value Vacations.

We flew out of Atlanta on a Tuesday afternoon and woke up as we landed in London Wednesday morning. It was a wonderful Delta flight and sleeping through the night gave us a good rest so we could hit the ground running. We got very familiar with the London tube and used that as our mode of transportation the entire time.

After a day and a half in London, we hopped a high-speed train to Paris through the chunnel. We ended up catching the Metro to the hotel and settled in before heading out to grab some dinner. After a full day of walking around the city and taking in the sites around Paris (Louvre, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe) we had an early dinner and headed back to the hotel, since our flight the next morning was at 0645 to Rome!

We got to the airport just in time for final boarding of the flight before the two-hour trek over to Rome. Rome public transport to the hotel was a different story – you’ll have to read more about it in the post about that specific port coming soon on the blog ;)

After a few days in the Roman sun, walking a few miles to see the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain, we finally boarded our 11-hour flight back to the U.S.

The trip was full of fun, food, and some stories that deserve their own post alone, so stay tuned to the blog to catch up on the adventures!
