These are a few photos of our crazy dogs, Storm and Daisy. Both are rescue dogs and they always seem to know how to make us laugh and when we may need a little snuggling.
Creamy pimiento cheese
Pimiento cheese was a staple growing up. We almost always had it in the fridge, especially during the summer. Pimiento cheese made a comeback a few years ago back into mainstream. There are so many recipes out there that include pimiento cheese – pimiento cheese deviled eggs, pimiento cheese twice-baked potatoes, pimiento cheese potato salad – the list goes on. And trust me, we’ve tried them all. But there is something special about classic pimiento cheese that just doesn’t convey into other recipes.
Southern Dill Pickle Martini
It’s 5 o’clock somewhere! Actually, it’s 5 o’clock here on the east coast so why not wind down on a Monday afternoon with a delicious adult beverage! Good day, bad day – this will do the trick :)
In the south, we love our pickles – and a good, stiff martini of course! We had long heard of restaurants that served a good dill pickle martini but we have never actually found one.
So, in true Southern Gay Gourmet style, we made a recipe of our own.
Someone is hungry
And he’s not afraid to let the entire neighborhood know about it by barking continuously. And his bark sounds like a pack of wolves…
I guess we’d better feed them both!
Marinated artichoke hearts
Baby it’s cold outside!
We woke up this morning to temps below freezing – in Atlanta. At least it isn’t snowing and the ground is dry. Anyone remember last year around this time? If not, a gentle reminder here… This is the temp today AFTER the sun came out and “warmed” us all up…
