Here we go! We are finally sharing our wonderful European vacation! Since we opted out of any tours, and opted for the self-guided route, we were able to find lots of things to experience, see, and EAT!! Of course we did hit a few landmarks along the way from meal to meal!
We met up with one of Trey’s former coworkers who lives in Oxford and came to meet us in the city for the day. We wanted the authentic English pub experience, so we were off to find something nearby – or as she called it, “leading us on a death march through London.” Nearly every pub we came across either wasn’t authentic or wasn’t open until dinner. We finally found one and settled down for lunch.
Here are a few photos from our time in London! To get there, we booked our travel with Great Value Vacations!
Buckingham Palace, by accident
Tower Bridge
Covent Garden Shops – this was a terrific area with tons of shops, bistros, and live music and entertainment!
And here are links to some of the great places we had great meals at during our time in London!
Cagney’s Restaurant – This was a quaint little restaurant down the street from our hotel. It was great for a quick dinner after our tour of the city on day one!
Cote Brasserie, Tower Bridge – We stumbled upon this place on our trek to Tower Bridge. We sat here for hours, enjoying the view, atmosphere and food. It was a great dining experience! The goat cheese salad and pretzel were AMAZING!
The Porcupine in Leicester Square – This was a really great pub for dinner on our last night in London. What we didn’t know is that the Harry Potter Broadway show was right across the street, so that was pretty cool too! And fish and chips for the win!
Next stop… Paris!
